With school back in full swing, parents and children may be starting to relax and get into the swing of things at school. In early September, a school bus from Boone County was involved in an accident that injured both drivers and two preschool-aged passengers. The bus was traveling on U.S. 42 when it collided with a pickup truck. Police on the scene reported that the truck was northbound on U.S. 42 when it struck the bus, which was turning onto U.S. 42 from Meadowlake Way. All children were wearing seatbelts, and none of the children were critically injured. The police did not release which driver was at fault in this accident. In April of 2014, the driver of a bus that collided with a FedEx truck and killed 10 passengers is involved in a negligence lawsuit by many of the remaining passengers and family members of the deceased passengers.
