C8 Lawsuit Information Facebook Page Wright & Schulte Launch

The law firm of Wright & Schulte LLC has created a C8 Lawsuit Information page on Facebook dedicated to providing the public with current news and information on C8 lawsuits being filed in Ohio and West Virginia by those who were exposed to the toxic chemical C8 in contaminated drinking water from DuPont’s Washington Works Plant in Parkersberg, W. Virginia, and the federal litigation regarding C8 contamination currently being heard in U.S. District Court, Southern District of West Virginia. (In Re: E.I. DuPont De Nemours and Company C-8 Personal Injury Litigation, MDL No. 2433)

Wright & Schulte represent residents of Ohio and West Virginia who are alleging personal injury or wrongful death because of drinking water contaminated with C8 from DuPont’s Washington Works plant in Parkersburg and those who worked in and around the area that may have been exposed to C8 contaminated drinking water for one year or more. For current news and information on C8 Lawsuits and C8 Water Contamination in Ohio and Virginal like us on our C8 Lawsuit Information page on Facebook.

Wright & Schulte, and partner Richard W. Schulte who serves on the Plaintiffs Steering Committee in the C8 contamination multidistrict litigation, continue to offer free C8 lawsuit evaluations to persons who were exposed to drinking water contaminated with C8 prior to December 3, 2004, from water districts around the Parkersburg area, and who have developed any of the illnesses linked to C8 exposure, including:

  • High cholesterol
  • Inflammatory bowel disease or ulcerative colitis
  • Kidney cancer
  • Thyroid disease
  • Testicular cancer
  • Preeclampsia (high blood pressure during pregnancy)

In 2005, DuPont reached a class action settlement affecting nearly 70,000 Ohio and West Virginia residents who were exposed to the chemical C8. As part of that settlement, DuPont funded the establishment of a C8 Science Panel to determine if exposure to the chemical could be linked to adverse health conditions. In 2012, the Panel published their findings, which linked C8 exposure to numerous serious adverse health conditions. The terms of the settlement also established that persons who developed one or more of the illnesses linked to C8 exposure would be able to file an individual personal injury lawsuit against DuPont.

If you or a loved one lived in or worked in one of the following water district for at least a year prior to December 2003, Wright & Schulte encourage you to contact the firm for a free lawsuit evaluation. The water districts includ:

  • Little Hocking, Ohio
  • City of Belpre, Ohio
  • Tuppers Plains, Ohio
  • Village of Pomeroy, Ohio
